I forgot to write about Suze Orman....

And I've lost my passion for the topic in the meantime. Well, I'll sum it up. She is a tool. An annoying, overpaid, overhyped tool. Providing general one-sized fits all financial advice is not only annoying, it is irresponsible. That's all I have to say about that.

In other news, we had a busy weekend. We went to Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us yesterday and bought a majority of the "stuff" we had left to buy. We did really, really well.
The high-chair decision was weighing on us heavily. My parents bought us the Boon Flair (which we wanted and registered for), but the brake did not work. At all. Turns out, it wasn't just our chair, the brake pretty much just doesn't work on the model! After returning it, we thought we'd go with the Svan, but after seeing it in person, I just was not impressed. It just looked like it could tip right over, and it was just so small. Even though a kid can allegedly sit on it until they are 250 pounds, if she has my thighs, that is not happening. After hours of searching and re-hashing Baby Bargains, we decided to go with the Chicco. It is safe, looks good enough, and has a lot of great features. Also, it is a lot less expensive than the other options we looked at.

Other stuff:

-We got a cheap, no frills Graco pack-in-play for travel. We're also going to get a bassinet for in the room as well. The price of the two together is the same price as one of the enormous, decked out PNP's. So that's good. I can't help it, I want my baby in a cuddly little bassinet.
-We decided on an Oi Oi Messenger-style diaper bag. We found it online for $90 bucks. We thought we'd go with the Skip Hop but it was pretty non-impressive in person.

(Pause. Cat Deely just showed up on the Emmy's. I love her. TV would be better if she would just host every show on TV. You hear that, Seacrest?)

-Why the heck are burp cloths so expensive? I think I might just buy some cloth diapers (the non folded ones). Or use Ikea dish towels. Seriously. They are 59 cents each.

As for gear we still need to figure out:
-Diaper Pail. The Genie refills seem like such a waste. Should I just buy a metal trashcan with a lid?
-Curtains.
-Floor Lamp
-Hamper
-Books!
-Probably some other crap I'm not thinking of, but we're really most of the way there!

One last thing- furniture is being delivered on Wednesday! I can't wait to get everything set up, and post pictures.
