What a nice weekend!

So, this weekend ended up being absolutely wonderful. It was so, so nice to see my family, my best childhood friend, and my college girlfriends. My sister's mother-in-law came down as well, which was just so nice.
We had a really nice time at the shower. Unfortunately, the skies were a little grey, but we still had a great time. At one point, I was blindfolded and forced to taste and guess baby food flavors. The worst of them? Lamb. Seriously terrible. Somehow, it actually got worse after I swallowed it. The guests were lucky I don't have morning sickness these days, I think some pregnant chicks would've yacked that right up. Don't worry, I happily reminded my girlfriends that I will be helping to plan their baby showers later, and there will be payback. Muahaha.
We received some absolutely wonderful gifts. We got a lot of our gear/bigger ticket items and tons of totally cute clothes. My sister got us the Moby wrap and I am super excited about that! We received practical stuff like pacis and bottles, and fun things like nursery decorations. My mom made us an absolutely gorgeous and perfect quilt for her bedroom, and some adorable hand-sewn bibs. This little one is especially spoiled, too, because my friend's mom made her a gorgeous purple quilt as well. That was a total surprise!
It was really nice to have a shower with just people closest to you, it was so much less stressful than my wedding shower. It's also exciting to see how much this baby means to other people who care about us. I am sure she is going to be so loved. even if some of it is long-distance love a majority of the time. :)
