I'm baaaaaaack...

Ok, so, I found out the delivery date of my little girl and fell off the face of the blogging planet. Whoops! Well, I am back, and plan on getting back in the swing of things with this blog. I'm planning on working on a redesign over the next few days and *hopefully* earn back my readers! A lot has gone on in the two months since Kaia's birth and I have a lot of blog entries swirling around in my head. So, let me catch you up before we get started!!

Our little girl, Kaia James was born via scheduled c-section on Nov. 5th 2009, weighing in at a whopping 8 lbs 12 oz.

She had a little bit of a rough start and had to spend her first night away from us in the NICU due to TTN- (Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn)- which in layman's terms is essentially excess fluid in the lungs. It is a extremely common c-section complication. She was back with us by 11am the next morning. Birth Story to come soon! (Finally!!)

We spent the first 3 weeks of her life working through some major breastfeeding challenges. Talk about an eye-opening life experience. I promise to write a big long post on my breastfeeding experience this week- it was a very interesting road.

Kaia @ 2 weeks old
By 3 weeks, our little lady was back up to birthweight and growing (height-wise) like a weed. At this point, she had begun nursing like a champ with the help of a nipple shield. Thank the good lord. We were given the go-ahead to feed on-demand. Almost immediately, Kaia started sleeping 5-hour stretches, and has been a great sleeper ever since. Woo-hoo!

After we got all of that feeding nonsense out of the way, we have been able to just enjoy our little girl. Here's Month Two in Pictures, Enjoy!:

I will see you tomorrow for the start of Blair's McFatty Monday's. It's time to shed some poundage!
