The unexpected challenge of working out.

>> Monday, January 11, 2010

So, it's Monday. And here's what's happened in the past week. I've stayed within my calorie range all week. I mall walked. I didn't sit for three hours at a time. I lunged, I squatted. I figeted. I took the stairs. And.. I lost a pound. That's it.

Blah.

163. Still a ton of weight to go.

It's rather clear to me that I need to work out. Not just mall walk hard and stay active. Instead, I need to be breaking a sweat a few times a week. Get ugly and gross. I know that is the key to losing weight fast.

However, a strange Mom reality is holding me back. I simply cannot find the time to shower. That's it. It is a miracle that I am able to shower once a day. I'll be honest, there are days when it does not happen. Those are the really tough days when I actually have to choose between sleep and showering. Usually, sleep wins and I just take a shower the next morning.

So, point is, if I can't find the time for one shower, how am I supposed to shower, take care of my child, and then shower again?? I HATE being covered in sweat, especially in the wintertime. If at the gym, I always shower in the locker room rather than waiting until I get home. Now that we are cancelling our gym memberships for cost reasons, and relying on excerciseTV onDemand, I just cannot deal with the concept of finally feeling clean, only to get remarkably dirty again, without any promise of when the relief from said dirtiness is going to occur.

And that is my random weight-loss as a Mom vent of the day.

Maybe you can take just 1 shower a day after your work out?

Good luck! Don't give up. 1lb is better than nothing! :)

1lb is a good start! I got ugly & gross (working out) 4x's last week and lost a big fat nothing.

Maybe you can do a workout video first thing in the morning & take a shower right after?

1 lb is a great start. Remember with weight loss it starts off really slow and then when your body realizes what is happening you start to loss the weight. It takes 2 - 3 weeks for weight to really come off. Keep at it and you will start seeing results.
